"JiOn" John Salamanca Jolbe Photography...

"...I didn't decide to be a photographer; I just happened to fall into it...

The challenge for me has first been to see things as they are, whether a portrait, a city street, or a bouncing ball. In a word, I have tried to be objective. What I mean by objectivity is not the objectivity of a machine, but of a sensible human being with the mystery of personal selection at the heart of it. The second challenge has been to impose order onto the things seen and to supply the visual context and the intellectual framework - that to me is the art of photography -JiOn

Famous! Hidden Tapsihan

Hidden Tapsihan? So named because it is tucked in one of the hidden streets in Kawit near the St. Mary Magdalene Church. But as they say, no good eating place can remain hidden from the persistent gastronome who wants to experience its excellent “TAPA,” or beef jerky and sweet vinegar sauce with onions. The budget for one conscious traveler will be pleased to find out that a complete meal with drinks and dessert will cost less than P100.00. may sukli ka pa pang bayad sa pedicab=) kaya if ever na mapapad kayo over Kawit, Wakas street Cavite, just drop by and try this filipino dishes.

Pinhole Camera "Digital Effect"

What is Pinhole Camera? A pinhole camera is a camera without a glass lens. An extremely small hole in a very thin material can focus light by confining all rays from a scene through a single point. In order to produce a reasonably clear image, the ratio of the aperture to the distance to the screen should be 1/100 or less. The shutter of a pinhole camera usually consists of a hand operated flap of some light-proof material to cover and uncover the pinhole.

A common use of a pinhole camera is to capture the movement of sunlight over a long period of time. This type of photography is called Solargraphy. Pinhole cameras require much longer exposure times than conventional cameras because of the small aperture; typical exposure times can range from 5 seconds to hours or days.

Ecology and biodiversity

Coral reefs support an extraordinary biodiversity; although they are located in nutrient-poor tropical waters. The process of nutrient cycling between corals, zooxanthellae, and other reef organisms provides an explanation for why coral reefs flourish in these waters: recycling ensures that fewer nutrients are needed overall to support the community.

Cyanobacteria also provide soluble nitrates for the coral reef through the process of nitrogen fixation. Corals absorb nutrients, including inorganic nitrogen and phosphorus, directly from the water, and they feed upon zooplankton that are carried past the polyps by water motion.[5] Thus, primary productivity on a coral reef...

The Kawit Old Simborio Church (TEASER) Cavite Trek Day#2

History

The name Kawit is derived from the Tagalog word kawit (hook) which is suggestive of its location at the base of a hookshaped shoreline along Manila Bay extending to the tip of Cavite City. Kawit was the most thriving settlement prior to the coming of the Spaniards. In fact, it provided the first anchorage of the Spaniards in the province, whence colonization and proselytization of the Christian religion began, spreading to all corners of the province.

Legend, however, gives another version on how the town got its name. One day a Spanish visitor asked a native blacksmith about the name of the village. The latter was busy at the time pounding on the anvil a piece of hot metal that looked like a hook. He hesitated to speak, not understanding what the stranger was asking, but when pressed for an answer, and thinking that he wanted to know what he was doing, he merely said kawit (hook). The Spaniards left muttering the word kawit. In the course of the time the word kawit evolv...

Gen.Emilio Aguinaldo Shrine (TEASER ONLY) Cavite Trek Day#1

The Aguinaldo Shrine is a national shrine of the Philippines, located in Kawit, Cavite. The Philippine flag is raised here by top national officials every Independence Day (June 12) to commemorate the event.

The shrine is the ancestral home of Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Republic of the Philippines. Philippine independence from Spain was proclaimed from a window of the home on June 12, 1898. The proclamation of Philippine Independence (subsequently replaced by another declaration written and signed in Malolos, Bulacan) was read, and the Philippine flag formally unfurled, although it had been displayed in battle in late May, 1898. The Philippine national anthem was also played (its lyrics still to be written in 1899) by the music band of San Francisco de Malabon (now General Trias, Cavite) on that date. President Aguinaldo, particularly while in retirement after his capture and release by American forces, greatly enlarged his home, building an elaborate Independence ...

Title: Apologize

I'm holding on your rope,
Got me ten feet off the ground
I'm hearin what you say but I just can't make a sound
You tell me that you need me
Then you go and cut me down, but wait
You tell me that you're sorry
Didn't think I'd turn around, and say...

It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late

I'd take another chance, take a fall
Take a shot for you
And I need you like a heart needs a beat
But it's nothin new
I loved you with a fire red-
Now it's turning blue, and you say...
"Sorry" like the angel heaven let me think was you
But I'm afraid...

It's too late to apologize, it's too late
I said it's too late to apologize, it's too late

Bridge (guitar/piano)

Vincent competed against nine other contestants and in a very thrilling two hour show, came out triumphant after besting two other finalists.

The weekly show, called Musical: Die Show, is the Austrian version of USA's American Idol with a twist. Instead of normal pop music, the contestants are required to sing their favorite songs from Broadway musicals. Vincent's repertoire included songs from Mary Poppins, Singing in the Rain, Phantom of the Opera, and Miss Saigon.

Apparently, Vincent has experienced performing in public before. Here he is, giving it up for a Vienna audience as front singer for Sarah Geronimo during her concert there.

In winning the contest, Vincent not only brings home with him €50000, but pride for the Philippines as well. Herzlichen Glückwunsch!, Mabuhay ka! Vincent!

Question is he going to be a KAPAMILYA or KAPUSO?? Let see what will hap...

Superman the President of United States of America Mr.George W. So we just take advantage of it... as this is only once in a Lifetime Chance only...

Cheers! =)

JiOn Tips on Digital Fireworks Photography

Here are some great Tips on how to shoot.

#1. Use a Tripod

SUMMARY: A tripod can make your fireworks photos crisper and more pleasing to the eye.

If at all possible when taking digital photos of fireworks, bring along a tripod and securely connect your digital camera to this device. Although this may seem like a lot of extra trouble, a tripod can greatly increase the quality of your shots.

In low-light situations such as the pitch-black night sky, it is almost impossible to take good photos with fast shutter speeds - there just isn't enough available light for the camera to record an image. Thus, either manually or automatically, digital cameras should be set to take longer exposures. However, it is difficult to keep a camera steady when taking longer exposures. This results in what is called 'camera shake' in that the photo turns out blurry due to the camera movement.

With a tripod, you can take longer exposures in these low-light situations and still result in crisp, clear photo...
